EASA Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT)

The aim of the EASA Advanced UPRT course is to train ab initio cadet pilots and pilots with no previous ‘advanced UPRT’ training :

  1. To understand how to cope with the physiological and psychological aspects of dynamic upsets in airplanes; and
  2. To develop the necessary competence and resilience to be able to apply appropriate recovery techniques during upsets.

This new training module is mandatory for any pilot prior entering into EASA Type Rating (TR) MPA or complex HPA and will be subject to the delivery of a training certificate.

Trainees will be trained on Grob 120 A-F aircraft, a spin and aerobatic capable IFR aircraft powered by a 260 HP piston engine and a retractable gear. This side-by-side dual seater aircraft allows an optimised instructor training environment, providing realistic conditions to train pilots for Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training.

Following the latest regulations and the Airbus Flight Training standards, the module incorporates the CBTA (Competency Based Training and Assessment) methodology and allows progression to a first EASA Type Rating.
